Joseph Lassiter Russell, III

Joseph Lassiter Russell, III, 63 of Fayetteville passed away Friday, October 21, 2016.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Monday, October 24, 2016 in MacPherson Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Doctor James Randall officiating. Burial will follow in Falcon Memorial Cemetery, Falcon, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 pm prior to the service in the church Parlor.

Joseph is survived by his mother, Juanita Gore Russell and numerous extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, the Reverend Joseph Lassiter Russell, Sr. and wife, Margaret; and his father, the Reverend Joseph Lassiter Russell, Jr. Joseph was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. Lewis Olen Gore and wife, Edna.

Joseph was a 1971 graduate of Terry Sanford High School. He also attended Holmes Bible College, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Emmanuel College and he received a bachelor degree from Central Wesleyan College.

He was admired by his family and friends for his integrity, sterling character, compassion, humble spirit and strong faith.
