Carol Floyd Roberts

Retired Army Sgt. First Class Carol Floyd Roberts, 80, of Fayetteville, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015.

Sgt. First Class Roberts retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service. He was a Vietnam veteran and earned the Bronze Star. After his retirement, Carol was involved in the home improvement business.

Carol is survived by his beloved wife, Jean Roberts; his daughter, Karen Roberts and husband Mike of Miami; his son, Ronald Roberts and wife Bert of Vidalia Ga.; stepdaughter, Kim Williams and husband Mark of Fayetteville; brothers, Roger Roberts and wife Ruth and Kenny Roberts, all of Ga.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m., Monday, April 27, 2015 in Arran Lakes Baptist Church in Fayetteville with the Rev. Jeff Isenhour officiating. Interment with full military honors to follow in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake. The family will receive friends from 8 to 9 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
