Priscilla Sandra Baiza Coffman was born in Albuquerque, NM to Alberto and Ramona Baiza on August 26, 1952.  In the following years they would have 2 more daughters, Cindy and Barbara.  As a small child Priscilla was nicknamed Boo Boo.

Priscilla lived in Fayetteville for over 50 years.  She was a graduate of Terry Sanford High School and Campbell University where she earned a degree in accounting.  Although she was very proud of her degree, she felt her greatest accomplishment was being a mother to Angela and Brian, and later a grandma to her beloved grandson Grayson.  Since retiring, Priscilla embraced her role of grandma with all her heart.

Throughout the years things were often hard, but she managed to keep moving forward for her children.  When her son Brian died in October of 2000, his loss took a heavy toll on her.  Then she was told her daughter Angela was going to have a baby and Priscilla regained some of the spark she had lost.  Her grandson could never replace Brian, but gave her a much needed new will to go on.  She so loved Grayson.

Priscilla was also very family oriented.  She enjoyed family gatherings for birthdays and holidays.  Her sister Cindy did not have any children and would often "borrow" hers, to include Grayson.  Her sister Barbara had four children: Ronnie, Jennifer, Ryan, and Randy.  As small children all the kids would be playing together and during holidays, especially Christmas. Our parents' house would be filled with the sound of little feet running around, laughter, and fun.  Priscilla also had a niece Courtney, and three more nephews, Scott, Delmar and Christopher on her former husband's side.  In the last few years she had so many health issues and worried about what would happen to Angela and Grayson if she were not around.  Our family always told her they would both be looked after, hoping this reassurance would enable her to rest easier and get better.

Over the past 2 months while Priscilla was hospitalized, our family made sure open lines of communication were kept between her daughter and grandson.  Grayson would ask when is grandma coming home?  We would tell him the doctors were working very hard to make her well.  We were told by the physicians at UNC Hospital that she appeared to have passed away in her sleep.

Though her heart may have grown too weak to continue beating, it will forever beat in heaven for her children, grandson, parents and the rest of the family she had to leave behind so unexpectedly.   Now for Grayson, grandma is a bright star in the night sky that watches out for him and his mother as well as the rest of her family. Our family's only immediate comfort is that she has been reunited with her son Brian and she is pain free.  In the evenings we look for that bright star and remind Grayson that his grandma loves and misses him so much.  Grayson will always have his memories and his grandma love will be forever in his heart.
