Edwina Agnes Evans

 Edwina Agnes Evans, 87, of Fayetteville, passed away on Wednesday, January, 14, 2015.

Ms. Evans was a graduate of Shaw University, earning her Bachelors of  Arts Degree, and also obtained her Master's of Sociology Degree at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She was a Professor at Fayetteville Technical Community College and also at Fayetteville State University. 

Ms. Evans was awarded The Teacher of the Year award in 1990, while teaching at Fayetteville Tech. She is the granddaughter of the late Professor Edward Evans.

Edwina  is survived by her sister, Alice Clarkson, of Fayetteville; several nieces and nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm, Monday, January 19, 2015 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Fayetteville, with  Father Steve Shott officiating.
