Lot's of good memories on Spruce St and the sand lot next door. We all had so much fun together during those years.

I think God led me to this obituary. I live in Greensboro, but for some reason decided to read the Fayetteville obituaries. David was a kind soul. Great character & sense of humor....excellent drummer. David was our drummer for my first little rock group in junior high. We played huge gigs like Hope Mills teen club and the like. Wayne (Mr. Waylett to me) sold me my first amp at McFadyn's. (Fender 'Twin Reverb'), now a classic collectible. We both grew up in First Presbyterian. Having joined 2-Presbyterian churches since then, it's still the most beautiful sanctuary on the planet. I was fortunate enough to see both Wayne & David play at 'The Groove'. With Dave Blum at the key board, a pretty class act for Fayetteville in the 70's. David became an astute golfer. His first excursion on a course (the old Green Valley Club) was just to follow me and my first cousin, Ben Reeves, just to kick around for one afternoon. I last saw David years ago in Greensboro when he was here for a McFadyen's golf outing weekend. We shared dinner & golf tips. Not all that long ago, brother Donald coached me on buying my Takamine guitar. Sweet times, even sweeter now. David, you are in our hearts. I pray God will bless me with another visit in that higher ground with you.

Dave was a wonderfully, sweet man. He would always go out of his way to show what true friendship, humor, and decency was all about. He touched way many more hearts than he could have possibly imagined. He was a fine Christian man and true Southern Gentleman. All who spent anytime with him will miss him and should thank the Lord for the blessing of knowing him. R.I.P. .my friend.
