Tom Vlachos

Biography

Mr. Tom Bill Vlachos, 84, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, July 4, 2011. He was born November 8, 1926 in Stenoma, Greece. He was the only son of the late Bill and Maria Vlachos.
Mr. Vlachos retired in 1993 from The Continental Café© in Eutaw shopping center where he worked with his wife for 13 years. He was a lifelong member of St. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church. Mr. Vlachos was also a 50 plus year member of the Order of Ahepa and Velouchi Organization.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Toula M. Vlachos of the home; three sons, Bill Vlachos and wife Debbie of Matthews, NC, John Vlachos and wife Maria of Winston Salem, NC, and Chris Vlachos of Fayetteville; five grandchildren, Christina, Catherine, Tommy, Matthew, and Katherine; two great-grandchildren, Sarah Cate and Rebecca; and two nieces, Maria and Nikki.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 7, 2011 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Trisagion Service at 7:30 p.m. in St. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, July 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church with Rev. Alexander Papagikos officiating. He will be laid to rest in Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to The V Foundation 106 Towerview Court Cary, NC 27513.
