I’m very saddened by this news. Ray was one of my best friends growing up in Baltimore from first to twelfth grade. I have many great memories of him. We lost touch after I moved to Houston in 1980. I last spoke with him when his father died in the 80s. My deepest condolences to everyone in the Byron family.
Sincerely, Bob Creager

Our thoughts and prayers are with Rays family. I remember Ray as a very personable and caring Soldier. He replaced me at the 319th MI Bn and we spent days for to become familiar with the day to day life within the 319th. He showed great concern for the training and welfare of the soldiers of the Bn. His goal, as always, was to take care of the soldiers that was entrusted to him for training and for the health and welfare of them. It is with sadness that I learn of his passing. He was a great soldier and an even better person. I know that you will miss him, and that you will never let his memory die. RIP Ray.

To the families and loved ones of Mr. Byron, who we know will be dearly missed. Almighty God promised at Revelation 21:4 that he will wipe away all our tears. And death, pain, and sorrow will be no more. So you can take great comfort in drawing close to God in prayer. And he will sustain and help support your families to endure. During these difficult times and in the months to come. My deepest condolences to all of your loved ones.
