Mary Jo (Wright) McTindal

The youngest of Mary and Kelly Wright's twelve children, Mary Jo, was born February 26, 1934 in Landrum, SC. She passed away September 29, 2014 following an extended illness.

Mary Jo spent most of her adult life in Belmont, NC where she was employed by Belmont Hosiery. Following the passing of her husband, Fred, she moved to Fayetteville to be closer to her grandchildren.

Mary Jo is survived by her son Dean "Mac" McTindal and wife Angela; granddaughters, Emery Ortiz and husband Ruben, Chatham McTindal and Lauren McTindal; sister Maude Duncan of Greer, SC; numerous nieces and nephews; and many others she adopted with her heart.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, October 3, 2014 in Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mt. Holly, NC with Art and Frankie Snead officiating. Interment to follow in Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia. The family will receive friends from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service Friday at Woodlawn Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Activities Fund at Bethesda Health Care Facility, 3532 Dunn Rd., Fayetteville.
