Jeffrey Wayne Burton

Retired Sgt. 1st Class Jeffrey Wayne Burton, 57, of Fayetteville passed away on Mon. Oct. 5, 2015.  Mr. Burton retired from the Army after 20 years of service.  He was very active with the Boy Scouts of America, achieving the highest honor, an Eagle Scout rank as a young man. He was a loving husband and wonderful father and will be missed greatly. 

He is survived by his wife, Allen of the home; daughter, Mary Allison Burton of King, N.C.; sons, Jeffrey Wayne Burton, Jr. of Muncie, Ind. and Christopher Lee Burton of Fayetteville; brother, David Burton and wife, Sheila of Indianapolis, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm Mon. Oct. 12, 2015 at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home Chapel with full military honors.  Interment will follow at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Sun. Oct. 11, 2015 at the funeral home.
