Welcome to the memorial page for

Gudrun Ingeborg Arnold

November 12, 1922 ~ August 1, 2015 (age 92) 92 Years Old

On Saturday, August 1, 2015, our beloved mother, Gudrun I. Arnold, left this world. She is now with the Lord. She had 92 years full of love, laughter, lots of joys, a few sorrows and a few tears that come with a life well spent.

What an amazing life she had. She was born on November 12, 1922 in Kahla, Germany.  Her loving parents, Max and Emma, raised our mom and her five siblings.  During the Second World War, she learned that while supplies might be scarce, love was always in good supply.

She met and married the love of her life, Chester Arnold, while she worked as a dental hygienist in a military dental clinic.  They spent a lifetime together. She was completely devoted to him until he died in 1996. Together they raised six children. She was probably the most positive person you would ever want to meet. She could see the good in everyone and could always find a way to compliment a person. She spent her entire life in service to others as her customers at Highland Country Club, her friends and her neighbors would attest. While my father was still alive, she put her full faith in Jesus Christ for her salvation. She enjoyed her job as a waitress at Highland Country Club more than any job she had.She was surrounded by love when she left us. We love you momma...we'll see you soon.... give our dad a hug!

she is also preceded in death by her son, William Paul Arnold and her daughter Barbara Brogdon.

She is survived by  Her children, Ursula Casey and husband Terry of Olathe, Kansas, Catherine Collins and husband Darrell, of Hope Mills, NC, Kenneth Arnold and wife Vickie of Raleigh, NC and Chester L.
