Grover Franklin Odom, Sr.

Grover Franklin Odom, Sr. , 72, of Hope Mills, passed away Friday, February 20, 2015.

Mr. Odom was born April 17, 1942 in the Grays Creek area.  He lived and farmed all his life in the Grays Creek area.  While farming,  he also worked at Dixie Yarn for over 20 years.  Grover enjoyed Nascar, wrestling, his music, and Westerns especially John Wayne.  He was an Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Mr. Odom loved his family.  He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandpa, and great grandpa.  He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Odom of the home; son, Grover Franklin Odom, Jr. of Fayetteville; daughters,  Rosa Haptonstall of Hope Mills, and Marsha Robinson of Hawaii; sisters, Rachael Livermore of Hope Mills and Estelle Elliott of Randleman; four granddaughters, Ashley, Krystal, Christina, and Alexis; and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 5 pm Sunday March 1, 2015 in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5810 Rockfish Rd. Hope Mills with Bishop Randall Newcomer officiating. A visitation will be held prior to service Sunday at 4 pm at the church.  Interment will be held in Lafayette Memorial Park on Monday March 2, 2015 at 11 am.
