William Mitchell (Mitch) Jackson, 76, of Fayetteville, NC passed away on September 10, 2024, after a short courageous battle with cancer.
Mitch was born in Harnett County, NC to William Milford Jackson and Johnnie Haney Jackson. Mitch was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, John Jackson, and his sisters, Vonnie McLamb, Marjorie Stancil and Wilma Tart. Mitch is survived by Lisa, brother, James Jackson of Dunn, NC; sister, Judy (Ron) Fowler of Raleigh, NC; and his special nieces, Alex Pierce of Chapel Hill, NC and Sara Pierce of Raleigh, NC.
Mitch was a retired Cumberland County Educator and Coach with more than 30 years of service and he served in The North Carolina National Guard. His love for travel, adventure, golf, and attending Alex and Sara’s volleyball games were his passion in retirement.
Mitch especially enjoyed his weekly golf game with his special friend, Mel Kanode.
Always ready for the next trip he was granted his angel wings on September 10, 2024, for the trip of a lifetime.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 AM with the celebration of life service following at 11 AM in the chapel.
