Welton Locklear, Jr., 87, of Fayetteville, passed away on June 15, 2025. He was born on December 10, 1937, to the late Emma Jane Locklear and Welton Locklear, Sr.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his longtime companion, Gloria Mack; his ex-wife, Paulette Locklear; his grandson, Ricardo Hall; and great-granddaughter, Heaven Sanders.
He is survived by his loving children: Joann Tyler, Marty Locklear, Eugenia Locklear, and Brian Locklear; grandchildren: Latasha Brewington, Dustin Brewington, Megan Brewington, Anastasia Brewington, Julian Locklear, Kya Locklear, Cheyenne L. Jeffrey, Jamie, Jessica Cummings, Joshua, Jered, Brian, Brooklynn, and Charleigh Locklear; and a host of beloved great-grandchildren.
Jr. was a man deeply loved by all who knew him. A true craftsman, he spent most of his life doing floor work and was a master of his trade. He was a devoted father, an awesome grandfather, and an amazing great-grandfather. His warmth, humor, and kindness will be greatly missed. Though he is gone, he will never be forgotten.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home, with a graveside service to follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
