Walter Lee Spence, 60 of Fayetteville passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018. He was a loving husband, father, grandpa and friend.
Walter recently retired from PWC allowing him to pursue his life long goal of obtaining his degree from UNC Chapel Hill. Walter passion was writing, he authored and self published two of his own novels, co-authored a novel with Holy Lisle and had almost completed his 4th book. Family was most important to Walter, and he made himself available to everyone, whether near or far.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Christine Ayscue and father, George Spence.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Deborah Mayo Spence of the home; three daughters, Mary Turner (Johnny) of Fayetteville, Erica Webb of Greenville and Morgan Ray (Chris) of Clayton; three brothers, Timorthy Howard Spence of Kittrell, Richard Calvin Wilkins of Franklinton and John Paul Spence of Kennewick, Wash.; his stepmother, Sherry Lynn Spence of Kennewick, Wash.; seven grandchildren, Courtney, Braedyn, Cailee, Grayson, Jessica, Jonathan and Julianne; and one great granddaughter, Lily.
Walter was well loved by all that knew him, he was generous and kind and will be missed.
A remembrance celebration is tentatively scheduled for June 20, 2018.
