Stanley "Tip" E. Tipton

Stanley E. “Tip” Tipton, 88, of Linden, NC, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.

Born on January 23, 1937, to the late Alfred Tipton and Elverti Sikentanz, Tip was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Anita Bowman, his brother, Clarence Tipton and his wife, Lena. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ina J. Tipton of Linden, NC; son, Raymond Tipton of Tucson, AZ; granddaughter, Megan Tipton of Tucson, AZ; great-granddaughter, Shae McKowen of Tucson, AZ; brothers-in-law, Larry Hudson of Conway, SC and Gene Bowman of Tucson AZ; nieces, Debbie Krenning of Bastrop, TX, Lorri Gloyd of Happy Valley, OR and Debbie P. Chesterman of Olympia, WA; nephews, Kenneth Bowman of Tucson, AZ, Mike Pierce and wife, Sherri of Linden, NC, Ken Pierce of Erwin, NC and Mike Tipton of Tucson, AZ; as well as two great-nieces, three great-nephews, and three great-great-nieces and nephews.

Tip proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1968 as an aircraft mechanic. During his service, he earned several awards, including the Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. It was during his first tour that he met the love of his life, Ina, and spent an additional six years serving in the military.

A motorcycle enthusiast, Tip was also the owner of Yamaha of Fayetteville. He enjoyed life to the fullest, with a passion for golfing, traveling, and cooking for others. Tip was a prominent figure in the motocross community and made a lasting impact on many lives.
