Shirley Jean Hall Obituary

Shirley Townsend Hall, 77, passed away at her home surrounded by her children on Sunday, October 25, 2020. She was a resident of Bunnlevel, NC.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Forrest Wayne Hall; her parents, Kathleen and Clayton Townsend; sisters, Lucy Brigman and Judy Tew, and brothers, Charles Townsend, Bruce Townsend, and Bobby Townsend. She has one surviving brother, Mitchell Townsend of Parkton, NC.

Shirley was a wonderful mother to three surviving children, Jan Daigle of Cameron, NC, Jerry Hall (Brenda) of Spring Lake, NC and Sherri Kropp (Donnie) of Saint Pauls, NC.

She was a loving grandmother to her six grandchildren, Joshua, Shaun, and Christopher Carter, Jamie Hall, Ciara Reband and Samantha Hall, and loved spending time with her four great-grandchildren; Alyssa Hall, Kylie Reband, Kayda Reband, and Aiden Hall.

Shirley embraced an extended family of grandkids and great-grandkids as a part of the Hall legacy. These include her grand-daughter Brittany Kropp Mott (Steven) and her children Emma, Camden, and Rylee and grand-daughter Marjorie Cassidy (Derrick) and great grand-children Meagan, Abreegail, and Dennis Cassidy.

Shirley’s faith in God was present since an early age and her faith stayed strong through the most difficult times in her life. She was a member of Layton Chapel Baptist church and she dearly loved her church family.

A funeral service will be held at Layton Chapel Baptist Church in Spring Lake, NC on Thursday, October 29th at 11:30 am. The family will welcome friends prior to the service from 10:30 to 11:30 am. Burial will immediately follow the service at Cumberland Memorial Gardens i Fayetteville, NC.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Shirley’s honor to Layton Chapel Baptist Church.
