Shirley Albertha Blair Taylor, 82, of Fayetteville passed away peacefully in her home on November 12th, 2021, with her loving family at her side.
Born In Belize city on July 28th, 1939. Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Taylor.
She is survived by her three sisters, Hazel Holman, Sarita Mulley, and Gloria Tomlin of England; and her brother, Ronald Blair of Belize. Mrs. Taylor is also survived by her two sons, George and James Taylor of Fayetteville, North Carolina as well as George’s fiancé, Donna Johnson of Fayetteville. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Wesley and Bailey Mason of Fayetteville and Cliff Mason, his fiancé Mimi Velazquez and their daughter, Shirley’s great grandchild, Ezra Mason of Chicago, Illinois as well as by countless nieces and nephews around the world.
Shirley was employed for 20 years with the Cumberland County School System as a cashier, she also worked alongside several local non-profit organizations, including West Fayetteville Recreation Association, The Retired Enlisted Association, and Douglas Byrd Alumni Association as a sponsor helping to raise money for these charities for over 40 years.
Shirley was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was kind with a gentle demeanor and wonderful sense of humor to all who knew her. She was willing to give back to the community she called home for more than 60 years.
A graveside Funeral Service will be held at 10am at Sandhills State Veterans cemetery on Friday, November 19, 2021. A visitation will be held on November 18, 2021 at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
