Shannon Denise Holt was born on February 9, 1967, in Murphysboro, Illinois, to her loving mother, Patsy Simmons, and her late father, Bennie Jean Simmons.
While living in Modesto, California, Shannon met the love of her life, William “Bill” Holt, and the two were married on July 1, 1994. Together, they built a beautiful life and were blessed with four wonderful children. Shannon proudly supported her husband throughout his U.S. Army service while devoting herself to raising their family with love and strength.
Shannon had a heart big enough to hold everyone close. Always ready to offer comfort, encouragement, or a good laugh when it was needed the most.
In her later years, Shannon faced illness with remarkable courage. Her determination to stay strong for her family was a testament to her love and spirit. Even through the hardest days, she continued to shine, a quiet reminder of what it means to love deeply and unselfishly.
On October 29, 2025, God called Shannon home to eternal rest. Though her time here has ended, her love and light will forever live in the hearts of those who knew her.
She is survived by her loving mother, Patsy Simmons of Fayetteville; her devoted husband, William (Bill) Holt; and her loving children, Dustin and Lexi Holt of Fayetteville, NC; Aaron and Nicole Koons of Hope Mills, NC; Joey and Sara Holt of Huntsville, AL; Lacey and Freddy Prosperi of Fayetteville, NC; and Ashlee Clark of Fuquay-Varina, NC.
Shannon’s legacy continues through her sixteen precious grandchildren: Ariel, Sky, Julie, Elena, Tyriel, Joey, Phenyx, Xavier, Addison, Eithan, Mallory, Gabby, Izzy, Vera, Killian, and Owen, as well as her precious great-granddaughter, Yaliana.
Shannon will be dearly missed by her beloved siblings, Michelle Taylor, Danielle Simmons, and Travis Simmons, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever treasure her memory.
Shannon was preceded in death by her cherished father, Bennie Jean Simmons.
Shannon’s life was a beautiful example of love and resilience. Her warmth, humor, and selflessness touched everyone she met. Though she may no longer walk beside us, her spirit will continue to guide, comfort, and inspire us for all our days to come.
Forever loved. Forever remembered.
