Sandra Cooper, 69, of Fayetteville, passed away on October 15, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her father, Earnest Sykes; mother, Grace Sewell; sister, Evelyn Sykes Barnes; and brothers, Willie and Larry Sykes. Sandra is survived by her loving husband, James Cooper of the home; her daughters, Renee Turner (Justin) of Fayetteville, NC, and Lani Mason (Matthew) of Autryville, NC; her brother, Jimmy Sykes of Chesapeake, VA; her sisters, Helen Sewell (Pete) of Laurinburg, NC, and Tina Farmer (David) of Fort Worth, TX; and her cherished grandsons, Jaxon and Jase Turner, and Levi and Maverick Mason.
For over 37 years, Sandra faithfully served as the secretary of Freedom Baptist Church. She deeply loved her daughters, sons-in-laws, grandsons, siblings, and extended family, as well as her church family. She found joy in riding through the mountains and spending time at the beach.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 18, 2024, from 11:30 to 12:30 pm at Freedom Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm with Pastor Paul Worley officiating. Burial to follow the service at Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Freedom Baptist Church Missionary Fund in Sandra’s honor.
