Angel Macias passed away on January 5, 2021. He was born in Torrejon, Mexico on August 8, 1940 to Carolina and Ambrosio Macias.
Angel was a loving Son, Brother, Soldier, Husband, Father, Companion and Friend.
He earned many decorations and 15 medals throughout his military career to include the Bronze Star with Valor & Commendation Medal with Valor. He was a Vietnam Veteran and one of the original members of the Army’s Elite Delta Force.
After retirement from the military, Angel went on to work for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms as well as the Federal Civil Service with Joint Special Operations Command for more than 20 years. His passions in retirement were golf, wood working, mosaic design, and gardening.
Angel was preceded in death by his loving wife of 34 years, Gertrude (Trudy) Macias; his loving parents, Caroline & Ambrosio Macias; younger siblings, Manuel Macias & Julie Furstenau.
He is survived by his five children: Charles Macias, Donna Macias Scales, Ruby Macias Champ husband Jeffery, Christina Macias Sponsler husband Douglas, and Angela Macias Kluck. He is survived by seven grandchildren: Stacie Coggins, Ashley Calhoun, Jackie Adam, Jodi Bloomfield, Zachary Champ, Katherine Champ, and Kayla Macias.
He is also survived by his siblings: Cande Elizaldi, Carolina Munguia, Johnny Macias and Lupe Gonzales, numerous nieces, nephews, 11 great grandchildren, a great great grandchild and his longtime companion and friend Lucy Zahran.
Angel lived an awesome and adventurous life. He will always be a Hero to his children and this nation. He was greatly loved and will be missed very much.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home with Father Jack Morrison officiating. Graveside service to follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
