Rose Ellen Jacobs-Matthies, 82, of Fayetteville passed away on May 4, 2024.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Ammie, and Clyde Jacobs; sister, Mattie Willis; brothers, Johnnie Jacobs, and Elbridge Jacobs; nephew, Michael Jacobs; sister in laws, Josephine Jacobs, and Charlotte Jacobs; great grandchild, Adelynn “Limnod” Whitley; son in law, Rodney Naylor; and grandson, Michael Johns. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 59 years, Arlon Matthies; children, Cheryl Matthies, Cindy Naylor, Ashely “Longworth” Quick and husband, Dewey, John Luke “Beefus” Naylor, Rachel “Tip-Tip” Starling, Chelsea “Link” Naylor, Nicolas “Buzzsaw” Starling and Lauren; 7 great grandchildren, Jayden “Beno”, Alexander “Knucklehead”, Olivia “Pickle Puss”, Jennavecia “Beatle Juice”, Michael “Cabbagehead”, Zander “Little Bo-Peep”, Hailey “Hai-Hai”; brother, Archie Jacobs; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. .
Rose was a homemaker, who loved her family and will be remembered as the glue that held the family together. She loved gardening, sewing, cooking, talking on the phone, was an avid animal lover, and was phenomenal at video games. She will be missed by her beloved dog, Midget.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home from 2 to 2:45 pm. A funeral service will be held at 3 pm in the chapel with Reverend Charles Young officiating. Burial to follow the service at Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
