Phillip Teague Obituary

Phillip Maxwell Teague, 82, passed away on Sunday, January 14 at home surrounded by his loving family. Phil was born in Jasper County, GA on July 3, 1941, to the late Clarence and Repard (Ledford) Teague.

Phil was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Lynn (Gerstenkorn) Teague.

Phil is survived by his wife, Linda; his daughter, Kathrine Vogus and husband, Ronald; his son, Patrick of Atlanta, GA; his son, Bodean of Marlborough, MA; his granddaughter, Chastity Jones and husband, Andrew of Warner Robbins, GA; his grandson, Devon of Worcester, MA; his grandson, Brady of Newport News , VA; his granddaughter, Carson Espinoza and husband, Joseph of El Paso, TX; his granddaughter, Molly Vogus and fiancé, Nicholas Butsch of Fayetteville, NC; his granddaughter, Stephanie Vogus; his great-granddaughter, Evelyn Jones; his three nephews, Adam, Sam and Kevin; three cousins, Wanda, MaryLou and Linda and many other relatives and friends.

Phil attended the University of Georgia where he met his wife of 60 years and earned his degree in Forestry. He began his forestry career in Cedar Springs, GA and ultimately retired after 33 years with Georgia Pacific Paper company in 2003. Phil was happiest outdoors; hunting, boating, fishing, camping, building something or collecting artifacts. He was always delighted to have his grandchildren or nephews at his side, learning the outdoor skills he wanted to pass on to them. Even when he was indoors, Phil kept busy, refinishing cabinets, laying new floors, painting walls, or drafting plans for some other project. He enjoyed playing his guitar at home and around campfires with the family and even played in a cover band in college called, The Vigilantes. Phil was a family man and a man of faith, serving the church wherever God placed him. His passing is a great loss to his family and friends but a great gain for Phil who has now arrived in a better country.
