Philip “Chip” Wiley Haigh III, 78, of Holden Beach, NC, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Jackson Haigh; his children, Kate Haigh and Philip Haigh IV (Claire); and his stepchildren, Delano Schmidt (Meghan) and Michael Schmidt. He was a devoted grandfather to Rory, Riley, Piper, Ally, and Emmett. Chip also leaves behind his brothers, Nimocks Haigh, Marsden Haigh (Logan), and Charles Haigh (Missy), along with many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peggy and Philip Haigh Jr., and his nephew, Reece Haigh.
A graduate of Fayetteville High School, Chip attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before becoming a CPA. He began his career at Haigh, Byrd & Lambert, the firm founded by his father in Fayetteville, and later established his own practice in Brunswick County.
A memorial service will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at 11:00 AM, followed by a reception at the Kyle House next door.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Episcopal Church or the Airborne & Special Operations Museum in Fayetteville, NC.
