Peter G. Singletary Sr. finished his last battle and laid to rest, to be welcomed by his heavenly father in eternity on Thursday, February 19th, 2026; Fayetteville, North Carolina.
He lived a life defined by service, courage, and unwavering integrity. A proud second-generation Tuskegee Airman, he carried forward a legacy of honor and dedication to his country. Throughout his distinguished 26-year career in the United States Air Force, he served with excellence as a Specialist, Technician, and Superintendent. Among his many accomplishments, he was a First Sergeant of the Air Force Presidential Honor Guard. A milestone that reflected both his leadership and the deep respect of those he commanded. Peter’s commitment to education was equally profound. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from National Louis University and later a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Southern University. Following his military service, he continued his calling to serve others as an educator in the DC Public School system. He dedicated himself to guiding and inspiring the next generation. Above all, Peter was a man of character whose strength of will never wavered. He was remarkable not only for his achievements, but for the way he connected with others. He had a story for everyone he met and a wisdom that seemed boundless. Peter stood firmly for what he believed in and never stopped fighting for what was right. His integrity, generosity, and wisdom touched countless lives, and his legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. Singletary and W. Elizabeth Singletary; his sisters, Shirley E. Lockhart, Patricia A. Elton, and H. Faye Singletary; his brother, Willie T. Singletary II; and his beloved daughter, April Singletary.
His legacy is continued to be honored by his devoted wife of 36 years, Carmelita B. Singletary; his sister, Dr. Yvonne Singletary; and his cherished children, Peter G. Singletary Jr. (Lisa), Albert Christer Singletary, Denise Ruffin (Tony), Tracy Jennings (Jimmie III), Melody Britt (Nathaniel), Deborah Robinson, Michelle Pasive-Kuhlman (Adam), Tina Henry (Gray), and Dannica Pasive.
