Norma Sue Mullins Kruczek, 72, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ola Marie Boykin and J.D. (John David) Mullins, as well as her brothers, John Robert Mullins, Bobby Mullins, and David Allen Mullins.
Sue leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory, including her sons, Bo Cable (wife, Nikki Cable), Wesley Hackensmith, III., and James Hackensmith; her daughters, Victoria Hair and Kimberly Ostrander; her brother, Steave Mullins; 14 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
She adored her children but had an extra special love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Known as the heart of her family and the soul of her neighborhood, Sue was lovingly referred to as the “Neighborhood Mom.” She always welcomed others with a warm smile, a listening ear, and a plate of food for anyone in need. She had a deep love for nature, finding joy in her garden and watching birds from her window. She was also drawn to the beauty of lighthouses and treasured trips to the beach. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love leave a legacy that will never fade.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home. Following the visitation, the family welcomes everyone for food and fellowship at Eastover Community Center, 4008 School Street, Eastover, NC 28312.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House in honor of her great-grandchild, Kayden Pryor, who is currently battling leukemia at Columbus Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH.
