Mrs. Carolyn Gibson Boose was born on August 19, 1931, in Nola, Mississippi, to Richard F. Gibson and Tera Smith Gibson. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 15, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories.
Carolyn graduated from Monticello High School, Monticello, MS in 1950 where she was a cheerleader. She attended Business School in Jackson, Ms. She retired from Civil Service at Fort Bragg and started her successful real estate career with Century 21 Real Estate and eventually opened her own company Colonial Realty. She was the President of the Fayetteville Board of Realtors in 1998. She was a Lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority, Laureate Kappa chapter, and a member of Cedar Falls Baptist Church. Her joy was spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren, playing canasta with her friends every Friday night and rocking on the front porch at Ocean Isle Beach. She was a Big President Trump fan. She would say "what did Trump do today" when we walked in her room at rehab.
In 1953 she met the love of her life, Jacob LeRoy Boose Sr. in Jackson, Ms. while he was in basic training in Biloxi, MS, They were blessed with three Children, a daughter, Ramona (Mike), two sons, Kevin and Lee, grandchildren, Stephanie Moore Olivas (Ricky), Bryan Moore (April), Kristin Boose Poe (Brandon), Clay Boose (Meredith), Jacob Boose III (Parise), Great grandchildren, Ricky Olivas, Brandon Olivas, Taylor Olivas, Christian Olivas, Jacob Moore, Jaxon Moore, Kinley Poe, Colton Poe and Mason Boose. She loved bragging about her great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Jacob LeRoy Boose. Sr, her son, Kevin Boose, brothers, Joe Gibson, Lloyd Gibson and Carl Gibson, her sisters, Dorothy Gibson, Pauline Williams, ML (Magdalene Louise) Day, Doris Foster and Maunteel "Bonnie" Dunaway.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; her sister, Virginia Hearn, and brothers, Shelton Gibson and David Gibson (Christine); nieces and nephews who she dearly loved.
Her family appreciates the awesome care she received on the fifth floor at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Visitation for Mrs. Carolyn Gibson Boose will be held on Thursday, March 20, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place on Friday, March 21, at 12:00 PM at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home, followed by entombment at 1:30 PM at Lafayette Memorial Park Mausoleum on Ramsey Street.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Terry Sanford High School Athletic Booster Club, PO Box 53018, Fayetteville, NC 28305, in honor of her great grandchildren, Ricky Olivas, Brandon Olivas, Taylor Olivas, Christian Olivas, Jacob Moore, and Jaxon Moore.
