Minnie Harriett Houston, 85, of Fayetteville passed away on October 30, 2021.
Known as “Mickey” to her friends, Minnie Houston was born in Ossian, Indiana, on January 20, 1936, to Harry and Nora Johnson. She was raised on a farm, and met her husband Bob Houston, Sr., in Fort Wayne, Indiana. They married July 16, 1960 and had three children. Grandmother to five and great-grandmother to two, Minnie was proud of her time employed with civil service and spent many years traveling to such places as Washington State and Okinawa, Japan, as an Air Force dependent. Once retired, she continued her sisterhood in Beta Sigma Phi sorority, amassing 50+ years of voluntary service to her community. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends, is remembered as a sweet and kind woman, is still present in the many drawings and stories she left behind, and now rests in her Father in Heaven.
A visitation service will be held at 10:30am at Rogers and Breece Funeral home, followed by a memorial service, which will be held at 11am on Wednesday, November 3 at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home.
