Michael (Mike) John Fredrick Kelsey passed away peacefully on December 31, 2023.
Mike Kelsey is survived by his wife, Julie Kelsey; his son, Mike Kelsey of Wilmington, NC; daughter in-law, Patricia Kelsey of Wilmington, NC; son, Philip Kelsey of Fayetteville, NC; daughter in-law, Robin Kelsey of Fayetteville, NC and Jonathan Kelsey of Fayetteville, NC; his grandchildren, Michael Devin Kelsey of Fayetteville, NC, Jasmine Kelsey of Fayetteville, NC, Brandon Kelsey of Nashville, TN, Madison Kelsey of Wilmington, NC and Lillian Kelsey; and his nephew, Justin Faccioli, Daytona Beach, FL.
Mike Kelsey was preceded by his brother, Butch Faccioli.
Mike Kelsey was born November 18, 1947, to parents John Campbell Kelsey and Marie Kelsey in Utica, NY. Upon completion of high School, he joined the United States Army. He served as an X-Ray technician and a Nuclear Medicine technician. He retired after 20 years of honorable service as a Sergeant First Class. Post military, he followed his passion for education by graduating from Methodist University with his Bachelor of Science degree. He continued his life of service working for the Veterans Administration Hospital as a Nuclear Medicine technician serving our Nations servicemen and women. Mike was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he had enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humor. He loved being the center of attention and making sure everyone was having a good time. He had a story for every occasion. He loved showing his competitiveness by coaching and participating in community sports leagues. Mike made an impact on many lives. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be forever missed.
Services will be held at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home, 500 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301 on Sunday at 1:00pm January 7, 2024.
