Mary “Lois” Jackson Obituary

Mary “Lois” Jackson, age 91, of Fayetteville went to her heavenly home on March 24, 2025, after an extended time with dementia with her beloved family by her side.

Lois was born June 5, 1933, to the late Allen and Hattie Beasley, a large and well-known family of Benson, NC, and the baby of eight children. She was a beloved member of Walstone Baptist Church serving many years in the nursery. Her outgoing personality made her a friend to many. She was involved in acts of kindness and always helpful to those in need of anything, even a listening ear. She enjoyed doing crafts, singing in the choir, and traveling. She was a devoted wife to the late Harold Jackson who served his country for 22 years as an officer in the Air Force and a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother “Gigi”.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Jackson; son in law, Thomas Burns; sisters, Laylon McLamb, Gladys Vann, Margaret Stancil, and brothers, James Beasley, Charles Beasley, Wade Beasley and Cleasper Beasley.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Burns of Fayetteville; granddaughter, Hannah Burns Britt and husband, Jarrod of Wade; granddaughter, Kristen Burns Muffett and husband, Mitchell of Fayetteville and grandson, Aaron Burns and wife, Carmen of Miami, FL. She had six great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 11am in the chapel of Rogers and Breece Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens on Raeford Road. The family will receive friends from 10 am to 11am prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend Thanks to her many caregivers over the years of her illness, Cindy Bryant, Ruby Wilson, Janet Aldoph, A Gracious Touch Home Care Agency, and the Care she received at Carolina Inn by the wonderful nurses, activity members and all others at the facility, which is such a wonderful place.

The funeral arrangements are entrusted to Rogers and Breece Funeral Home Ramsey St. Fayetteville, NC.
