It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary (Yvonne) Houser Marlow of Natick, MA, formerly of Fayetteville, NC, and Bristol, VA, on May 19, 2026, at the age of 92. She was born in Bristol, VA on September 21, 1933. She graduated from Bristol Tennessee High School in Bristol, TN and received her nursing degree from Cabarrus Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in NC. She married James Marlow on Christmas Day in 1956. Together they raised 3 children, while living in a number of US states, as well as Augsburg, Germany and Bangkok, Thailand. She also traveled to Cambodia and Laos with groups of military wives. Mary joined James in a career in real estate later in life. She was very active, enjoying gardening, painting, cooking, tennis, and bowling. Mary loved visits from her children and grandchildren, always caring for others before herself. She was a big animal lover; there was always a cat or dog in the family. In 2021, Mary moved to Whitney Place in Natick, MA, where she joined a new community of friends. Everyone knew Mary for her caring personality, sense of humor, and warm smile. She always engaged others in conversation, and encouraged new residents to join in. Mary loved being anywhere there was sun, especially when visiting the beaches of North Carolina.
Mary is survived by children, Kimberly Anne Marlow and husban,d Terence Kenney of Menlo Park, CA, Michael Marlow and wife, Tiffany of Suwanee, GA, and Susan Jasinski and husband, Neal of Natick, MA; grandchildren Mary Kenney, Matthew Kenney, Kari Marlow, Kelly Wright, Christopher Jasinski, and Rachel Jasinski; and great grandchildren Ethan Petot, Margaux Petot, Kinsley Wright, and Kaden Wright. She was preceded in death by her mother, Kella (Barker) Houser; father, Robert Lee Houser; brother, Ernest Houser; and sisters Leona (Houser) Schweikardt, Mona (Houser) Barker, and Georgia (Houser) Leonard. The family will receive visitors at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home on Monday, May 25, at 11am, followed by private service and interment at Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery, Fayetteville, NC.
