Mary Helen (Jarman) Howard

August 11, 1936 to November 11, 2024.

With heavy hearts and fond memories, we announce the passing of our beautiful matriarch, Mary Helen Jarman Howard at the age of 88. Mary Helen is now reunited with her late husband, Rev. Alton Douglas Howard; her late son, James Douglas Howard; her late daughter, Linda Kay Norris; her late great-granddaughter, Amelia Moody as well as her late parents, James Solomon Jarman and Lucy Mae Andrews Jarman. She is without a doubt already causing a ruckus and cracking jokes in heaven.

If there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s that the angels are getting their first crash course in Mary Helen’s signature sense of humor and quick wit. While we’ll miss her gift for being the heart of every joke, we find comfort knowing she’s up there, surrounded by family, sharing her endless humor.

Mary Helen is survived by her beloved daughter, Dianne Schumacher (Roger); her sister, Anne Snipes (Ronnie) and sister, Joyce Marshall. She is also the proud grandmother of seven: Danielle Carter (Bob); Daryl Terry (Candie); Michelle Conley (Robbie); Jason Howard, T.J Norris, Olivia Moody and Ashley Schumacher. She is further blessed with eleven great-grandchildren; Miranda Worsley (Stephen); Tyler Conley, Kayleigh Conley (Jack); Christian Howard, Madeline, Abigail and Maggie Terry, Kye Middleton, Liam Moody and Riley and Hunter Norris.  

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Cumberland Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Gary Horne officiating. There will be no family visitation; however Rogers and Breece Funeral Home will have a private viewing all day on Friday, November 15, until 6PM for any family/friends who wish to spend some time honoring this beloved woman.

Please wear your best shade of pink to honor Mary Helen’s favorite color and her sassy, vibrant spirit.

You will always be a beloved Sister, Mother, Grandma, Memaw and Friend who made us laugh, but most of all, you made us love you. You’ll be missed more than words can say.
