Marvin Stewart Herring Obituary

Marvin Stewart Herring, 53, of Fayetteville passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021.

Marvin enjoyed spending time with family and friends, shopping, going out to eat and being a papa. In 2017 he was diagnosed with lung cancer. Marvin had the spirit of a fighter and faced the disease head on with a smile no matter where the journey took him. He was known for his big heart and love for helping others.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Stewart and Charlotte Herring. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Herring of Fayetteville; son, Cordie Herring of Fayetteville, daughters, Cortney Walker (Bradley) of Wilmington, Hannah Townsend of Fayetteville and Haley Townsend of Fayetteville; sister, Kathy Lencall (Jerry) of Linden; brothers, Ronnie Herring of Stedman and Gordon Herring of Holden Beach; and twin grandsons, Luke and Liam Beasley of Fayetteville.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Tuesday, March 30 at Rogers & Breece Funeral Home, with the Revs. Johnny Chavis and Rodney Strickland presiding. Burial will follow at Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 29 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
