Colonel (Ret.) Mark D. Boyatt, 77, of 1022 Four Wood Dr., Fayetteville, NC, passed away on February 27, 2026, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC.
Mark was a graduate of the University of Tennessee. He then served in the Army for 28.5 years, the majority of which were spent in Special Forces.
He is preceded in death by his father, Rupert Boyatt; his mother, Vera Boyatt; and his sister, Mikki. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Nancy Goodall Boyatt; his sons, Chris (Meg) of Fayetteville, Ben of Wilmington, and James (Casey) of Morganton; his grandchildren, Evie James and Andrew Douglas; as well as much loved extended family.
The family will receive visitors at 1:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2:00PM on April 18, 2026 at Rogers & Breece Funeral Home, Fayetteville, NC.
Mark loved God, his country, and his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, playing golf with his buddies, reading, and quiet nights at home.
