Marina is survived by her husband, Kenneth Timms; her son, William; and her sister, Josephine Konopacki, and her husband, Joe. She is also remembered by her brothers-in-law: Larry Timms and his wife, Wanda, along with their daughter, April; Brian Timms and his wife, Shelly, with their children, Brian Jr. and Britanny; and Jeffrey Timms, with his son, Jeffrey Jr., and daughter, Sarah. Additionally, she is survived by her sisters-in-law: Diane Burns and her husband, Marvin, with their sons, Chris and Zach; Kathy Timms, with her son, Jonathan Hunt, and daughter, Misty Powers. Her nephew, John Timms, his wife, Joanie, and their daughter, Eliana, also cherish her memory.
Marina earned her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from NJIT and began her career as an Engineer at Picatinny Arsenal. She met her husband Ken while working at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, where they fell in love and were married a year and half later. This marriage went on for thirty-two short years, where they had a son William who followed in his mother’s footsteps to earn a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. She was so proud of his success, especially because she pushed him constantly to be his best self. Marina initially paused her Engineering career to raise William, and when he began school, she started anew with both Real Estate and Broker’s licenses that she used in her 15-year career with H&H Construction. In her spare time, she shared many nerdy interests with her son and friends (be it anime, comic book movies, or fantasy books), and loved spending time with her precious animals over the years: Brutus the miniature pincher, Chico the chihuahua, Havoc the pit bull/rottweiler mix, Bentley the pit bull/boxer mix, and Violet the pit bull. As tough and feisty as she could be, she was loved by so many and will be dearly missed by her large group of family and friends.
A visitation will be held on 12 February, 2025 from 1:00-3:00pm at Rogers & Breece Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in Rosedale Cemetery in Montclair, New Jersey the following week.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the organization CurePSP at www.psp.org to hopefully one day reduce the likelihood of other families being affected by this terrible disease.
