Margaret McCaskill Carpenter

Margaret McCaskill Carpenter of Fayetteville, NC, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at the age of 93.

Margaret was born April 24, 1932, to the late Virginia and Owen Allen McCaskill. She is also preceded in death by six brothers and sisters, and two grandchildren (Allen Brisson & Caroline Brisson). She is survived by her two sons, Dallas Brisson (Tina Schultz) and Doug Brisson (Raylene Brisson); her grandchildren, Tara Brisson Hinton (d. Tim Hinton), Owen Brisson (Erin Brisson), Clint Brisson (Sam Stolte); and her three great-grandchildren, JoAnna Hinton, Hudson Brisson and Anna Blair Brisson.

Margaret spent over 30 years as an employee for Sears in the TV department, where she initially retired from. She eventually went back to work as a receptionist at Carolina Highlands. She was loving known as “Grandma”, whether she was their grandmother or not. Everyone knew her as Grandma, because she treated everyone like one of her own grandchildren. The family cherishes the times spent in the yard for Sunday lunches, Easter egg hunts, basketball games, fireworks, and so much more.

We would like to thank some special people in this past year of Grandma’s journey. Thank you Betty Ginn, Margaret Shaw, Nurse Webster and Nurse Lashonda from Amedisys Hospice, Ronda Edmonds from Visiting Angels, and all the family and friends who visited during this time.

A visitation will be held at Rogers & Breece Funeral Home on Thursday, December 11, 2025, from 12:30 to 2:30pm. A graveside service will follow at 3pm at Lafayette Memorial Park.
