Margaret Adams, who believed in a bountiful holiday table, the spoiling of grandchildren, the North Carolina Tar Heels and, above all, her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, passed away March 22, 2021 under the loving care of the doctors and nurses at Womack Army Medical Center. She will be missed for her inimitable spirit, her delicious Southern cooking and for telling us all that she loved us a “bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.”
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Lee Adams, daughter Kimberlee Adams Hasty and son-in-law David Hampton Hasty, as well as four grandchildren who brought her so much joy: Courtney Katherine Hasty, Caroline Hampton Hasty, David Adams Hasty and Charlotte Grace Hasty. Her love and concern for her grandchildren were matched only by the love and concern she had for great-grandchildren Allison Chesley Holt and John Bartholomew Holt Jr.
She also is survived by family members who were as close as children to her: Wanda Hardee Boles and husband John; Dean Jackson and wife Lisa; and Diane Jones Hardee.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Allison Kimberlee Hasty.
She and her husband were devoted members of College Lakes Baptist Church, where she spent many a Sunday morning and Wednesday evening teaching little children the stories of Jesus and bringing copious amounts of food to every church celebration.
A service to celebrate her life will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Rogers & Breece Funeral Home, with the Rev. Sam Lanier presiding. A visitation will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to College Lakes Baptist Church, 4704 Ramsey St., Fayetteville, NC, 28311.
