Lydia M. Moore, 83, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ March 10, 2021 surrounded by her loving daughters. She was born in Fayetteville NC on December 4, 1937. Lydia was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Thomas Moore III, her son Randy Moore, and two brothers, John and Robert McNeill.
Lydia graduated salutatorian from Fayetteville High School in 1956 and attended the Woman’s College of North Carolina. She married the love of her life, Billy Moore and raised four children. Lydia was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Lydia loved cooking, reading, writing poetry, collecting antiques, trips to Myrtle Beach, and spending time with her two best friends, Mary Cile Ussery and Betty Lou Lewis. She doted on her grandchildren and her beloved fur babies, Cubbie and CJ.
After her husband’s passing, Lydia resided at the Carolina Inn for eleven years. She enjoyed winning at bingo, dreaded chair aerobics, and loved Friday Happy Hours with Robyn, Christie, and her special friends.
Lydia is survived by son, Mark Moore of Fayetteville and daughters, Robyn Moore Huskey and husband Michael of Grays Creek and Christie Moore Jackson of Fayetteville. She is also survived by grandsons, Mark and Matthew Moore and granddaughters, McNeill Hall, Maria and Bre Huskey, and great grandson Holden Gouard.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 14 from 2-3 pm at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park West.
