Lydia Weathers Doherty

Lydia Weathers Doherty passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at her home at the age of 75.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Caroline Hilton Hadden and George Kennedy Weathers; her sister, Dianne Weathers Jenkins; and her brother, George E. Weathers.

Lydia is survived by her husband, William Doherty; her children, Scott Vance, Pamela Hendry and her husband Michael Hendry, and Sherry Vance; and her step daughter, Tracey Doherty. She is also survived by her brother, John Weathers; sisters, H. Denise Hooks and Delores Michelle Hickson; brother-in-law, John Doherty III; sisters-in-law, Amanda Bailey, Judy Robinson, and Patty Jenkins; grandchildren, Joshua Simpson and his wife Amelia Simpson, Phillip Vance and his wife Jessie Vance, Ciara Simpson and significant others Amber Germain and Joe Germain, Emily Vance, and Dylan Vance; great-grandchildren, Melody Vance, Tanzima Germain, and Jamari Germain; aunts, Ida McCurry and Barbara West; uncle, James Hilton; nieces, Kimberly Fail, Sheena Cobb, Tena Hooks, and Caroline Barnes Dix; nephews, Richie Weathers, Roddy Smith, Kenneth Huff, and John Huff; and her sister in love, Teri Rockwood.

Lydia touched the hearts of many and was loved by all her friends and family. She will truly be missed.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on May 3rd at 1:00 p.m. at Balm in Gilead Ministries, 3110 Doc Bennett Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28306.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Balm in Gilead Ministries, 3110 Doc Bennett Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28306, in Lydia's honor.
