Listine Lessie Stewart of Fayetteville was born in Sampson County to the late Iona and Lonize Hall on June 25, 1939 and left this eternity on Saturday, September 29, 2018 completing her journey of 79 years.
She retired from Purolator after working there for 32 years. She was married to J.D. Stewart for 52 years and had ten children.
In addition to her parents, Listine was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Stewart; two grandsons, Brandon and Matthew Stewart; a granddaughter, Crystal Stewart "NayNay"; a great grandson, Dennis Locklear; a daughter-in-law, Debra Sue Gilliespie; and a brother, Sam Hall.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, J.D. Stewart of the home; six daughters, Debra K. Faircloth, Dorathea Stewart, Connie Stewart , Betty Jo Stewart (Shorty), Lessie Stewart, all of Fayetteville and Pamela Stewart (Jr.) of Stedman ; three sons, Johnny Dean Stewart of Hope Mills, James "Lil James" Stewart of Fayetteville and Joseph Stewart of Fayetteville; two sisters, Annette Holland of Angier and Linda Moore of Fayetteville; one brother, Larry Hall (Carol) of Wilson; 18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and another on it's way; as well as a host of nieces and nephews and plenty of friends.
Listine was well loved and respected by many. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend to so many.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, October 3, 2018 in Rogers and Breece Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Lafayette Memorial Park West. The family will receive friends from noon (12 pm) to 1:45 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
