Linda Sue Shelton Smith, 73, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on October 19, 2025. She was born on April 6, 1952, in Stuart, Virginia, to Thomas Shelton Jr. and Ruby Handy Shelton.
Susie was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Jerry and Lucille Lester.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Timothy Lee Smith ,her daughter Stacy Lynn Smith (Plotts), her granddaughter, Jordan Bryant Jackson (Parker), and great-grandson, Vance Donovan Parker, as well she leaves behind a surrogate daughter Kimberly Lynn Norman.
Susie was a banker for over 30 years. Beyond her professional life, she was a faithful servant of God and an active member of her community, always eager to lend a helping hand wherever one was needed.
Susie had a tremendous love of all animals, a gift for making others feel loved, and a spirit that radiated joy. She was the kind of person you could always count on, she was steady, loyal, and full of grace. Her laughter filled every room she entered, and her compassion touched countless lives. Those who knew her best will remember her for her unwavering faith, her love for her family, and her ability to find beauty and humor even in life’s hardest moments.
Susie’s legacy of love, kindness, and faith will continue to shine through all who were blessed to know her.
