Kenneth “Ken” Dysert Vaughn, 85, of Brevard, NC died peacefully April 25, after a short illness in Asheville, NC.
Mr. Vaughn was born on November 17, 1935, in Wellsville, Ohio to Irma and Charles Vaughn. He graduated from Wellsville High School and Johns Hopkins University. His career in Radiologic Technology spanned more than 50 years in Florida and North Carolina, where he mentored and trained countless students and supported patients, doctors, and other medical professionals. He loved the NFL (Go Steelers!), was a devoted Duke Blue Devils fan, and he kept busy solving crossword puzzles, reading watching Jeopardy, listening to Il Divo, Queen, and collecting Heisey glass.
He is survived by daughters, Kim Vaughn of Sanford, NC and Amy Morrow (Johnny) of Brevard; sons, Matthew (Letisha) of Fayetteville, NC and Christopher (Laura) of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Geoffrey Whaley of Boston, MA, Leigh Whaley of Chesapeake, VA, Nikolas and Rece Vaughn of Greensboro, and Tristan Iacino of Fayetteville.
