Kelly Brian Lee

Kelly Brian Lee, 61, of Fayetteville, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024.

Born on March 7, 1963 in Fayetteville, NC, Kelly was the son of the late Dr. Douglas Lee and Mrs. Frances Warren Lee. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Patrick Lee, and Michael Lee. Kelly is survived by his three sisters, Sheila Ritchie (Jim), Mateney Warren (Roger), and Kathleen “Kathy” Lee; his two brothers, Mark Lee (Conley), and David Lee (Sonya); and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Kelly was an accomplished carpenter and designer for commercial and residential properties, having worked mostly in the Fayetteville area as well as the Washington, D.C. area where he remodeled historic homes and embassies. He enjoyed gardening and loved animals. He brightened his home with plants, fountains, dogs, and rabbits. He also brightened the local parks of Brunswick County during his time with the Parks and Recreation Department.

Kelly had a beautiful spirit and contagious laugh. He maintained lifelong friendships with his childhood friends from elementary school through high school. His warm personality and the way he talked to everyone like an old friend led him to build many new friendships throughout his life.  He loved to spend time with his friends, family, and with his beloved dog, “Kammo”, going to the beach and to concerts, and cheering on the Carolina Tarheels during basketball season. He will be remembered as a loving brother, uncle, and friend to many. He will be greatly missed and forever cherished by all who knew and loved him.

A funeral Mass will be held at Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Fayetteville on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 11:00am. Visitation with the family will be at 10:00am, prior to the Mass. A private graveside service will be held at the Baggett Family Homestead in Sampson County.
