Kathy G Osterbind passed away peacefully on May 08, 2026.
She is preceded in death by her father Audrey M Griffin, mother Kathryn Griffin of Richmond, VA. One sister and brother of Richmond, VA, and grandson Dalton Osterbind of Hope Mills, NC.
Kathy G Osterbind is survived by her husband Richard Osterbind of Fayetteville, NC, Daughter Jami Osterbind of Hope Mills, NC, Grandson Jay McNeill and Wife Dustlyn McNeill, Great grandson Azariah McNeill of Cameron, NC. Nieces Tammy Johnson and Teresa Church of Richmond, VA, Great Niece Jasmine Thacker and Nephew Jaleel Thacker and Great Niece Courtney Whisenant of Richmond, VA.
Kathy was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. She went on to marry Richard Osterbind who served in the United States Army and established her life in Fort Bragg, NC. She was very well known in the community for being a child caretaker, her after school program she is highly regarded as a second mom to most of the kids in her community. Kathy was always a giver, wore her heart on her sleeve, welcome you with open arms. She was always there to listen with ears wide open. Family and friends meant the world to her, many lifelong. Always there for you when needed help or just needed someone to lean on. Kathy was a spiritual person and believed in her faith. She absolutely loved mickey mouse; let it be known to tell you that was her man she loved to travel and had an adventurous spirit. She would get so excited about going to the airfield and jumping out of planes, swimming with sharks, going on cruises, traveling the world. She could light up any room with her laughter. Her favorite saying in the world was “oh my father’s”. If you knew Kathy, you heard this a million times. Kathy’s grandchildren absolutely meant the world to her, when she would speak of her grandchildren, her face would just light up and her eyes would sparkle, her presence will truly be missed by all.
A viewing will be held at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home on Monday May 18, 2026, from 6 to 8pm.
The service will be Tuesday May 19, 2026, at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home followed by a chapel service at Sand Hill State Veterans Cemetery at 2:00pm. The officiating pastor will be Reverend Lewis Hackett.
Family will receive friends at the home after service.
