Kathleen Baker Story Obituary

Kathleen “Kitty” Baker Story, 77, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at her home in Grays Creek. Kitty was born in Cumberland County on February 25, 1943 to the late Neill Alexander and Kathleen (Payn) Baker.

Kitty is survived by her beloved older sister, Maryanne Baker; her cousin, Caroline Parsons; her husband, Jon of Grays Creek, and her two cats, Timmy and W.C.

Kitty graduated from East Carolina University and taught elementary school for 30 years. After retiring she became an active volunteer with the Fayetteville Animal Protection Society (FAPS) and the Cape Fear Regional Theater. Kitty had a big heart and a wicked sense of humor. She was a wonderful teacher and friend to many and is already greatly missed.

A graveside Memorial Service will be held at Marvin Methodist Church on Highway 87 South in Grays Creek at 1PM on Sunday, January 24, 2021.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Fayetteville Animal Protection Society.
