Kamal Bakri Obituary
Dr. Kamal Manubhai Bakri, age 72, passed away on July 28th, 2022.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Bharti; his daughter, Pooja, son-in-law, Rudresh Mahanthappa, and their children, Talin and Freya, and his son, Amit and daughter-in-law, Anna Moreland.
He was born in Surat, India and earned his medical degree in Baroda, India prior to moving to the United States. He did his early training in Buffalo, NY prior to moving to Fayetteville, NC in 1983. In the late 80s, he joined Cape Fear Valley Hospital where he was the co-director of medical oncology and director of the Cancer Center until his retirement in October of 2020.
Dr. Bakri was a pillar of strength in the community of Fayetteville. He has touched the lives of countless individuals with his deep compassion and faith. He has, and will continue to be, a source of inspiration to us all.
Funeral services will be held on July 31st, 2022, at 10:00 am at Rodgers & Breece Funeral Home, 500 Ramsey Street Fayetteville, NC 28301 with Pundit Kamlesh Vyas Ji officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Care Clinic of Fayetteville or Friends of the Cancer Center – Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation.
