Joseph Allen Coleman, 75, of Eastover passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Al was preceded in death by his loving wife, Anne; his parents, Gordon and Joyce Coleman; his parents-in-law, Nathan and Peggy Smith; and his sister, Carol Carver.
Al is survived by his son, Jody (Jennifer) and his daughter, Crystal (Thomas); grandchildren, Brittany (Dan), Brandon (Tamara), Trey, Tori (Jacob), Mason, and Kyle, Siblings, Willie (Cindy) and Debbie, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Al was born and raised in Eastover. He met the love of his life, Anne, who he married in 1968. He enlisted in the US Army and served in the Vietnam War. He worked at Goodyear tire plant until he retired to stay home with his love and spend time with the grandchildren. He was a devoted member of Hillside Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and a member of the choir.
Al enjoyed spending time outside. He loved riding his bike, gardening, spending time with family and rejoicing with his church family. His sense of humor and witty charm will be deeply missed.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Hillside Baptist Church from 9:30 to 10:25 am. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am with Reverend Phil Lloyd officiating. Burial to follow the service at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
