Jon Henry Cone, Sr.

Jon Henry Cone, Sr., 73 years old, of Hope Mills passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023. Born December 13, 1949, to the late Elijah and Eunice Cone.  

Jon leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Verna Lee Cone; children, Dion S. Cone, Anthony D. Cone (Janet), Jon M. Cone, Jr., Delene Bell-Cone, Kimberly Sanders (Henry); sister, Luvenia Cone; his grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and a host of relatives and friends.

Our beloved Jon Henry Cone served in the military for 26 years. He was a man with a Servant’s Heart. A great father and awesome husband, and the most kindhearted person we knew. He had a passion like no other, always eager to help and dedicated to many people. His life was a blessing, and his memory a treasure to many. He will truly be missed.

Matthew 25:35-40, For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger and you invited me in. I needed clothes and you clothed me. I was sick and you looked after me. I was in prison, and you came to visit me. Whatever you did for the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.

A funeral service will be held at The Church at Cedar Creek on Wednesday, August 9th, 2023, at 11:30 AM with Reverend Randall Hunt officiating. The family will receive friends prior the service from 10:30 – 11:25 AM. Burial to follow the service at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
