Obituary

Johnny M. Cherry, 78, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023. Johnny was born in Williamston, NC on April 21, 1945, to the late Marshall and Maggie Cherry.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Sue; his son, Chae and daughter in law, Rebecca of CA; two brothers, Bobby and sister-in-law, Pam of TN, and Bruce of SC; five grandchildren, Kimberly, Michael, Jonathan, Christine, and Katherine; great grandchild, Eden and many other relatives and friends.

Johnny was a decorated Vietnam veteran that touched the lives of everyone he met. He was an avid collector of military and locomotive memorabilia. He loved to share in the memories and never turned down a good meal. He was a kind and gentle man who would do everything to help others. He will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 4, 2023, at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home from 12:30 to 1:25 PM. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM in the chapel with burial following at Lafayette Memorial Park.
