John Evangelos Vlahos, 90, passed away on March 15, 2026.
John was preceded in death by his father, Evangelos Vlahos; his mother, Alexandra Vlahos; his sister, Stelliani Predoiu; his mother-in-law, Lucia DeMicco; and his brothers-in-law, Eugene Predoiu & Pasqualino DeMicco.
John is survived by his wife, Cristina Vlahos; his sons, Alexander & Iannis Vlahos; his grandchildren, Marco & Mia Vlahos; his daughters-in-law, Shannon & Melissa Vlahos; and his nephew, Massimiliano DeMicco.
John was all about his family and friends. He loved to travel and was passionate about soccer and the Greek National team. He was very proud of his 22 years of service to the U.S. Army and the opportunities that arose from his commitment to the values of his adopted home, the U.S.A.
A funeral mass will be held at 11am, March 20, 2026, at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church with Father Alexander Papagikos officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the services, starting at 10am. His burial will take place on March 26, 2026 at 10am at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church or the Disabled American Veterans Organization of Fayetteville.
