John Edward Cobern passed away surrounded by family on December 16, 2025. John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
John is preceded in death by his parents, Lullabelle Cobern and Jesse Cobern Sr.; and his grandson, Tyler Miller.
John is survived by his wife, Sheri Cobern; his daughters, Mandy O’Neal and Kelly Clark (Hunter); his grandchildren, Halley Miller, Airian West, Lucas West, Olivia Riggins, Madalyn O’Neal, Miles West, and Raine Fair; and his siblings, Emil Cobern, Jesse Cobern Jr., Sabrina Brewer, and Tilina Whetsell; along with more family and friends.
John, loving known as “Papa” to most, loved his family above all else. He was a witty man who was always cracking jokes just to put a smile on your face. John spent 36 years working hard for Good Year and Kelly Spring Field before enjoying his retirement. Never one to stay still for long, he later started his own handy man business and spent much of his time enjoying the outdoors.
A visitation will be held from 2-4 PM at Rogers & Breece Funeral Home on Saturday, December 20, 2025. The family invites friends and guests to their residence afterwards.
